Dr. James "Speed" Rogers is a Brazilian-American who was born and raised in Minnesota. He earned undergraduate degrees in Anthropology and Life Sciences from Kansas State University, completed a master's degree in Biomedical Sciences at Duke University School of Medicine, and earned his medical degree from St. George's University School of Medicine. Before joining DePaul's Family Medicine Residency Program, he completed two years of General Surgery residency training in New York.

Dr. Rogers chose Family Medicine because it allows him to combine his interests in social medicine, health equity, LGBTQ+ health, and the relationship between culture, environment, and health to provide compassionate, patient-centered care.

Outside of medicine, he enjoys following the National Hockey League, traveling, reading, horseback riding, and developing his ceramics skills.
