Medical School - American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine

Dr. Montavious McKenzie grew up in Albany, Georgia, where witnessing healthcare disparities in rural and underserved communities inspired his passion for medicine and service. Before pursuing medicine, he worked as a high school science teacher, coach, and in finance, with a focus on improving both the health and financial well-being of his community.

He chose Family Medicine because it allows him to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care while expanding access to quality health care in underserved areas. Dr. McKenzie is committed to serving communities in New Orleans and ultimately hopes to provide care in rural communities both in the United States and abroad.

Outside of medicine, he enjoys photography, writing, exercising, hiking, and volunteering in the community.
